FAQ

FAQ about Telemetry and Fleet Management

What is TrackVision and what is it used for in a warehouse setting?

TrackVision is Ubiquicom’s software platform designed for monitoring and tracking industrial assets. It provides a centralized, real-time view of the location, status, and movement history of all company assets registered in the system: forklifts, pallets, containers, equipment, mobile machinery, and any other object equipped with a tracking tag.

TrackVision collects data from the Locator RTLS system and presents it in an intuitive dashboard interface, giving warehouse managers complete control over their resources at all times.

Which company assets can be monitored with TrackVision?

TrackVision is engineered to monitor any type of industrial asset: industrial vehicles and material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, AGVs), load units and pallets (with RFID or UWB tags), valuable equipment and tools (with UTAGT tags), shelving and mobile structures, reusable containers and packaging, and measuring devices and instruments.

The platform is scalable and can manage anywhere from a few dozen to thousands of assets simultaneously, adapting to both small warehouses and large distribution centers or multi-area production sites.

Can TrackVision help reduce inventory losses?

TrackVision reduces asset loss with several features:

  • Real-time tracking to immediately locate any registered asset, eliminating the need for manual searches
  • Automatic alerts when an asset leaves a predefined area or is not found within a set time
  • A complete history of movements to trace an asset's location and usage
  • Periodic reports on assets not moved within a certain time frame to identify idle or lost resources

Companies that adopt TrackVision report significant reductions in the time spent searching for equipment and containers.

Does TrackVision support the management of asset maintenance tasks?

Yes, TrackVision includes asset maintenance management features.

The system tracks how many hours each vehicle and piece of equipment has been used, allowing you to schedule preventive maintenance based on actual usage rather than fixed time intervals. When an asset reaches the maintenance threshold, TrackVision automatically notifies the manager.

The system also maintains a record of maintenance work performed, creating a comprehensive history for each asset to support decisions regarding fleet replacement and optimization.

Which enterprise information systems does the TrackVision fleet management platform integrate with?

TrackVision integrates with major enterprise information systems. Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to synchronize asset information with operational processes; Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for asset lifecycle and value management; Maintenance Systems (CMMS) for managing technical interventions; and products from the Ubiquicom ecosystem, such as Locator for location data, Synchro for fleet management, and BlueBox for vehicle behavioral data.

Integration occurs via standard RESTful APIs, which facilitate connection with third-party systems.

Which reports and analyses are generated by TrackVision for operational management?

TrackVision generates comprehensive reports to support operational decision-making: asset utilization reports by period (operating hours, idle hours, utilization percentage per vehicle), heat maps of the most frequent routes within the warehouse, compliance reports for scheduled maintenance, analysis of stops at waiting points (e.g. loading/unloading zones, and staging areas), movement history for individual assets or entire categories, and customizable KPI dashboards.

All reports can be exported in standard formats (Excel, PDF, or CSV) for further processing.

Does TrackVision operate in real time or process data offline?

TrackVision operates in real-time, updating asset locations and statuses at a configurable frequency (typically every 1–5 seconds). This provides warehouse managers with an instant and accurate overview of the entire operation.

However, the platform also maintains a complete history of all past data, enabling retrospective analysis over any time interval. The hybrid real-time/historical processing mode allows for both immediate operational monitoring and performance analysis over time to optimize processes.
